The Chambers Europe Team share an update on researching legal professionals and firms in Barcelona. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Chambers and Partners ranks lawyers and law firms based on their location and we are bringing Spain in line with a wider approach to highlight exceptional lawyers and firms based on region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We have taken the decision to have Barcelona-based lawyers ranked in Barcelona only if they are active in one of six practice areas:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If the lawyer is specialised in a practice area outside of these six areas of practice, e.g. Life Sciences or Intellectual Property, we will continue to review their work in the general \u201cSpain\u201d tables. This by-location approach will give more space to Madrid and Barcelona teams to highlight a larger number of lawyers in each location and allow us to feature more excellent talent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
When submitting, firms should highlight individuals based in Barcelona in the Barcelona submissions for the above-mentioned practice areas. All other individuals should be listed in the \u201cSpain\u201d submission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
Lawyers previously listed in the Spain tables which are also featured in the Global guide will maintain their ranking there as Spain: Barcelona is not currently featured in the Global guide. This will apply to Corporate\/M&A and Dispute Resolution rankings in Global only.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Barcelona-based firms and lawyers active in international matters will still be reviewed for their inclusion in the Global M&A and Dispute Resolution tables as part of our research. Please highlight this element of their work in the submission for the relevant Barcelona table.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Please note that the criteria applied is not new, but rather is being brought in line with our coverage in other jurisdictions and guides.
