The forthcoming edition will include research into:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Nationwide \u2013 Canada, Artificial Intelligence&nbsp;<\/li><li>Nationwide \u2013 Canada, Constitutional Law&nbsp;<\/li><li>Nationwide \u2013 Canada, Environmental, Social &amp; Governance (ESG)&nbsp;<\/li><li>Nationwide \u2013 Canada, Energy: Nuclear&nbsp;<\/li><li>Nationwide \u2013 Canada, Sports Law&nbsp;<\/li><li>Ontario, Corporate\/Commercial: Shareholder Activism&nbsp;<\/li><li>Ontario, Corporate\/Commercial: Takeover Defence&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p>As with the previous three editions of the Canada Guide, the\u202fmaximum allowable number of referees per section available to submit to is 30, up from the previous limit of 20.\u202fWhile firms are free to allocate these extra referees however they wish, we hope that the 10 additional referees present an increased opportunity for women lawyers and attorneys at the more junior end of their careers to list referees for their practice.\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If a firm uploads over 30 referees, our research team will remove referees from the process using their own discretion, until only 30 remain.\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p>As with previous years, we will continue to <strong>not accept referees<\/strong>\u202ffor the following four Nationwide practice areas:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Nationwide \u2013 Corporate\/M&amp;A&nbsp;<\/li><li>Nationwide \u2013 Employment &amp; Labour&nbsp;<\/li><li>Nationwide \u2013 Litigation: General Commercial&nbsp;<\/li><li>Nationwide \u2013 Real Estate&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Instead, we will use referee feedback from the respective province sections as part of the Nationwide research, alongside supplementary research calls with a select number of firms. This decision was taken to alleviate referee fatigue and to avoid referees having to duplicate their feedback between the Provincial and Nationwide research.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Firms are still permitted to upload submission documents to these sections which highlight the firm\u2019s expertise on matters that are national or international in scope, or otherwise showcase the full extent of their expertise in the relevant area of law across the country.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p>For the previous two Canada Guides, in a\u202fselect number\u202fof practice area submissions, we allowed\u202fup to 25 work highlights.
