Hello, My name is Dennis. As the Head of Greater China Region Research at Chambers, I supervise all four jurisdictions of this fast-growing region covering wide-ranging practice areas and sectors and have the honour to lead this dedicated department full of specialists with unparalleled experience researching the local legal markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I joined Chambers & Partners in 2013 as a research analyst and before long was promoted to Deputy Editor of the Asia-Pacific team, where I led the coverage of East Asia markets including China, the Korean peninsula and Japan. I later concentrated my research on the Greater China Region and helped to create this standalone guide. Prior to my time at Chambers, I studied and worked in China and England. I had a degree of German and English Studies at a prestigious university in China and later studied media\/publishing at University College London before completing a Graduate Diploma in Law from BPP. I also worked extensively in some research, project management and editorial roles in both locations, and have a strong interest in market analytics and legal analysis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
My current role as the Head involves strategically growing the branding and ensuring the accuracy of our expanding coverage in the region. I regularly engage with marketing individuals, senior partners, general counsels and company executives to keep up with the current market trends. I started as a researcher on the Asia-Pacific team, before becoming an Assistant Editor and subsequently Research Manager.<\/p>\n\n\n\n My role as Research Manager involves managing a team of research analysts, who conduct in-depth interviews with solicitors, barristers, general counsels and other market sources, and working with the team to ensure the rankings and editorial content reflect the current market. I oversee the research for China International and assist with PRC research. In addition, I also oversee the Korean peninsula sections research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I work with contacts at law firms and sets of chambers to discuss the work handled by their practitioners and their views on the markets. I speak Mandarin and Cantonese, and my internships and mini-pupillage experience in Hong Kong further aid my engagement with the law firms and chambers.
